Key Responsibilities: - Create highly detailed and visually striking character concepts that align with the game's vision and narrative. - Develop a unique visual language for different character factions, ensuring consistency in art direction. - Collaborate closely with art directors, 3D artists, animators, and designers to ensure seamless translation of concepts into 3D models. - Explore a wide range of silhouettes, materials, and textures to establish believable and stylized designs. - Provide detailed callouts, breakdowns, and turnarounds for 3D artists to work from. - Efficiently iterate on feedback while maintaining artistic quality and vision. - Research and incorporate influences from history, culture, nature, and fashion to create innovative character designs. - Collaborate with the narrative team to visually express personality, lore, and faction ideologies through character designs. - Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and techniques to push creative and technical boundaries. Qualifications Required: - 5+ years of experience as a Character Concept Artist in the gaming or entertainment industry. - Strong portfolio showcasing original and high-quality character designs focusing on anatomy, proportions, and storytelling. - Expertise in digital painting and illustration software like Photoshop, Procreate, or equivalent. - Deep understanding of form, composition, color theory, and lighting in concept art. - Strong knowledge of real-world and fantastical materials, clothing, armor, and accessories. - Ability to create concepts that balance artistic vision with technical feasibility for 3D production. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a proactive approach to feedback.
