Interested candidates are requested to please provide an updated resume at swati.chouhan@airindiaexpress.com Role Overview We are looking for a Senior UX Designer to join our team and spearhead the creation of exceptional digital experiences for Air India Express. In this role, youll lead the UX/UI design of our customer-facing platforms (web, mobile, and more), ensuring every interaction is intuitive, engaging, and reflective of our brands warmth and innovation. You will collaborate with a diverse crew of designers, developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to transform business requirements and user insights into elegant, user-centric designs. As a senior member of our growing design team, youll also mentor junior designers and champion best practices in user experience design. Role & responsibilities Lead the end-to-end UX/UI design process for Air India Expresss digital products (website, mobile app, etc.), from concept and wireframing through to high-fidelity visual design and handoff. Conduct user research, usability testing, and market analysis to deeply understand user needs and pain points, translating findings into actionable design improvements. Create intuitive wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity interface designs that embody simplicity, efficiency, and the warmth of our brand. Design engaging motion and interaction elements (e.g. micro-interactions, animations) to elevate the user experience and make our digital interfaces delightful and memorable. Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, software engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless implementation of designs and a consistent user experience across all touchpoints. Manage and prioritize multiple design initiatives, working within a large team environment to deliver on deadlines and project goals for complex, large-scale projects. Present design concepts and prototypes to stakeholders and senior leadership, articulating the rationale behind design decisions and incorporating feedback to achieve the best outcomes. Mentor and guide junior UX/UI designers, fostering a culture of design excellence, user-centric thinking, and continuous improvement within the team. Preferred candidate profile Experience: 5+ years of proven experience in UX/UI design (with at least a few years in a senior or lead role), backed by a strong portfolio showcasing work on web and mobile applications. UX & Research Skills: Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and hands-on experience with UX research methods (e.g. user interviews, surveys, usability testing) to gather insights and validate design decisions. UI & Graphic Design: Strong UI design abilities with a keen eye for visual details; proficiency in basic graphic design (illustration, iconography, layouts) – advanced graphic design skills are a plus. Tools & Tech: Proficiency in modern design and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD), along with familiarity in creating interactive prototypes or motion designs (using tools like Principle, Framer, or similar). Interaction Design: Solid knowledge of interaction/motion design and the ability to craft delightful micro-interactions and animations that enhance usability without compromising performance. Collaboration: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Proven ability to work effectively in large cross-functional teams and to articulate design concepts to both technical and non-technical colleagues. Project Leadership: Demonstrated experience contributing to or leading large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, agile environment. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Fine Arts, or a related field is preferred (or equivalent professional experience). Passion: A genuine passion for creating top-notch user experiences.
