Role Overview: You will be part of a diverse, high-performing team dedicated to technical excellence at American Airlines, focusing on delivering unrivaled digital products to drive a more reliable and profitable airline. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, deployment, management, and maintenance of software applications that support business processes and user needs. Key Responsibilities: - Write, test, and document technical work products (e.g., code, scripts, processes) according to organizational standards and practices - Produce good quality technical work products that are clear, concise, tested, and easily understood by others - Debug design-time and run-time problems efficiently, identifying issues in dependencies or caused by interactions with other services - Design new implementations and provide enhancements to existing architectures, ensuring reliability, resiliency, security, and performance - Identify and correct issues with system components affecting operational reliability, stability, and performance based on observable telemetry - Follow secure coding practices to avoid potential vulnerabilities and actively look for vulnerabilities during code reviews - Identify automation opportunities to improve team performance and suggest them to the team - Identify and capitalize on opportunities for simplification consistently Qualification Required: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training - 1+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale solutions in production environments Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training - Airline Industry experience Skills, Licenses, and Certifications: - Experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, Javascript/Typescript - Familiarity with frameworks like Spring/SpringBoot, FastAPI, and front-end technologies including Angular/React - Knowledge of deployment technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, and source control tools such as GitHub and Azure DevOps - Proficiency in CICD tools like GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, data management with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and integration/APIs technologies like Kafka, REST, GraphQL - Experience with cloud providers such as Azure and AWS, test automation tools like Selenium, TestNG, Postman, SonarQube, Cypress, JUnit/NUnit/PyTest, Cucumber, Playwright, Wiremock/Mockito/Moq - Ability to effectively convey ideas verbally, in writing, in code, and in diagrams - Familiarity with Agile methodologies like SCRUM and DevOps Toolchain methodologies, including Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment Role Overview: You will be part of a diverse, high-performing team dedicated to technical excellence at American Airlines, focusing on delivering unrivaled digital products to drive a more reliable and profitable airline.
