Sr Application Engineer

As a Virtuoso Layout Engineer at Cadence, your main responsibility will be to meet with customers/prospects to identify and qualify opportunities. You will need to work out agreeable evaluation criteria, run through the evaluation process, and convert these opportunities into business. Your role will also involve assisting customers in deploying the tool and ensuring its smooth operation in production. Having a strong understanding of customer flow and excellent analytical skills to resolve issues impacting production schedules will be crucial. Handson knowledge of Advance Node layout and design rules would be considered a plus. Your job will require close interaction with the R&D and Product Engineering team for the implementation of new features and bug fixes. Excellent customer and communication skills, as well as leadership qualities, will be essential due to the extensive interaction with customers for issue resolution and identifying opportunities to proliferate Cadence technologies. To excel in this position, you must possess a solid understanding of IC design technology and foundry process/methodology in analog layouts. You should have a good grasp of analog layout design fundamentals, advance node virtuoso techfile constraints, and hands-on experience in writing skill scripts for various layout automation tasks. A comprehensive knowledge of the analog back-end flow, including top-level floorplanning, complex block level layouts, physical verification, extraction, EMIR analysis, etc., is required. Proficiency in Cadence layout tools, specifically Virtuoso with advance node exposure, is crucial. Prior experience in using Cadence CustomIC Physical Design tools (Virtuoso) and flows, including chip integration and signoff, would be advantageous.
