Sr. Analytics Engineer

As a Senior Analytics Engineer at our company, your role will involve driving the design, implementation, and maintenance of data architecture and semantic layers to best serve our organization's analytical needs. You will be expected to work with modern data stack technologies and have a proven track record of building scalable, AI-ready data architectures. Key Responsibilities: - Design and implement dimensional data models following Kimball methodology and best practices. - Plan, create, and execute comprehensive data architecture strategies supporting current and future analytical needs. - Build and maintain robust semantic layers enabling self-service, BI, analytics, and AI. - Ensure data architectures are optimized for AI and machine learning applications. - Develop and maintain complex SQL queries, data pipelines, and data transformations using Databricks. - Utilize Python for data processing, automation, and advanced analytics workflows. - Implement data quality checks and monitoring systems using Databricks pipelines. - Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, semantic layers, and architectural decisions. - Establish and enforce data governance standards and best practices. - Lead cross-functional projects to deliver data solutions driving business value. - Mentor junior team members and contribute to the growth of the data engineering practice. Required Qualifications: Technical Skills: - Deep knowledge of dimensional modeling principles and Kimball methodology. - Expert-level SQL skills with ability to write complex queries and optimize performance. - Extensive experience with Databricks or Snowflake. - Strong understanding of semantic layer concepts and architectures. - Proven ability to create and maintain technical documentation. Experience & Background: - 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering or related field. - Proven track record of designing and implementing data architectures at scale. - Strong understanding of data warehouse design patterns and best practices. Work Environment & Communication: - India-based role with the ability to work evening hours (IST) for overlap with US-based teams. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. - Experience working effectively in distributed, cross-timezone teams. Preferred Qualifications: - Python experience for data processing and automation. - Experience designing data architectures optimized for AI and machine learning workloads. - Hands-on experience with semantic layer tools. - Familiarity with additional tools in the modern data ecosystem. - Previous experience in relevant industry if applicable.
