Job Description

As a SQL Server DBA at AHEAD, you will be an integral part of the technical service delivery team, responsible for managing and supporting Microsoft SQL database systems for clients. **Role Overview:** You will play a crucial role in resolving client technical support issues through the Managed Service Desk. Additionally, you will be involved in performing the installation of Database application software, patches, and service packs. Proactive database monitoring and maintenance, backups and restores, as well as supporting systems for high availability and disaster recovery will be part of your responsibilities. You will also update support documentation, learn from Senior DBAs, and attend required training sessions. **Key Responsibilities:** - Resolve Client Technical Support Issues (Managed Service Desk) - Perform installation of Database application software, patches, and service packs - Proactive database monitoring and maintenance - Perform backups and restores - Support systems for high availability and disaster recovery (e.g. Availability Groups, replication, log shipping) - Update support documentation - Learn from Sr. DBAs - Attend required training **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Similar Technical Degree preferred - Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Database Administration or relevant classwork - Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, including installation, configuration, and patching of Database Software - Operational understanding of SSIS and job monitoring - Proficiency with T-SQL and monitoring tools - Working knowledge of RDBMS security models - Experience with a Managed Services Provider preferred - Familiarity with cloud-based technologies such as AZURE - Previous experience with Performance Monitor AHEAD is committed to creating a culture of belonging, where all perspectives and voices are valued and respected.
