Job Description

Job Summary:

SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA)

Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances (20122022).
Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.
Perform regular database tuning and optimization (indexing, query optimization, execution plans).
Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security.
Implement and maintain database security (user access, role permissions, encryption).
Create and maintain database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions.
Develop, manage, and test backup and recovery plans.
Automate routine database maintenance tasks using scripts and scheduling tools (SQL Agent, PowerShell).
Collaborate with developers and other stakeholders to ensure efficient database design and operation.
Participate in database architecture decisions and capacity planning.
Maintain disaster recovery and high availability configurations (e.g., Always On, Log Shipping, Replication).
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues (errors, locks, deadlocks, space issues, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or similar certification.
Experience with Azure SQL, AWS RDS for SQL Server, or other cloud-based SQL solutions.
Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, and/or SSAS.
Experience with automation tools such as PowerShell, Redgate, or dbatools.
Exposure to DevOps processes and CI/CD pipelines.
