Job Description – Sports Teacher

Position: Sports Teacher
Department: Physical Education
1. Job Purpose

To plan, organize, and deliver a structured sports and physical education program that enhances students’ physical fitness, sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and overall well-being.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Teaching & Coaching

• Conduct daily Physical Education (PE) classes for assigned grades.
• Teach basic to advanced skills in various games and sports.
• Ensure age-appropriate physical activities.
• Coach students for inter-house and inter-school competitions.

B. Sports Program Planning

• Prepare annual sports calendar and PE lesson plans.
• Organize sports events, annual sports day, and fitness assessments.
• Maintain inventory of sports equipment and ensure proper usage.

C. Student Development & Safety

• Promote fitness, healthy habits, teamwork, and discipline among students.
• Identify and train talented students for competitive sports.
• Ensure safety of students during all physical activities.
• Provide first-level care in case of sports-related injuries.

E. Discipline & Behaviour Management

• Ensure discipline during PE periods and sports practice sessions.
• Encourage fair play, respect, and positive behaviour on the field.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed / M.P.Ed).
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in teaching or coaching (school experience preferred).
• Strong knowledge of rules and regulations of multiple sports.
• Certification in specialized sports coaching is an added advantage.

5. Working Conditions

• Full-time, school-based role.
• Must be available for sports events, competitions, and extra practice sessions.
• Requires outdoor activity in various weather conditions.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
