Role Requirements

Splunk Proficiency:

• Strong knowledge of Splunk architecture, query language, and best practices.
• Expertise in monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Splunk systems.
• Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and understand system behavior at scale.

Orchestration Tools:

• Experience with Puppet (preferred) or similar automation/orchestration tools.

Cloud & Operating Systems:

• Hands-on experience with AWS and Linux/Windows environments.

Incident Handling:

• Assist in root cause analysis and manage change-related escalations.

Process & Runbook Usage:

• Must adhere to documented change processes and control gates strictly.

Communication:

• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.

Documentation:

• Maintain and update runbooks with rollback/validation steps.
• Ensure all changes are version-controlled and reviewed.
  

Key Responsibilities

• Execute change requests in line with Splunk TechOps runbooks and compliance standards.
• Use ServiceNow workflows and IA tickets for change tracking and execution.
• Review, validate, and implement Splunk configuration changes.
• Develop and maintain up-to-date Splunk runbooks.
• Follow second-person review protocols as per process.
• Provide ad hoc reports, customer escalation support, and incident investigations.
• Update supplier engineering runbooks with rollback instructions.
• Track and report KPIs and SLAs (e.g., change success rates).
• Execute production-grade changes via ServiceNow.
  

Preferred Certifications

• Splunk Core Certified Admin / Power User
• ITIL Foundation (preferred for change process understanding)
• Puppet / Ansible Certification (desirable)
