Speech Therapist / Sr. Speech Therapist - Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation

As a Speech Therapist at our company, your role will involve adhering to departmental policies, protocols, and procedures while maintaining quality assurance programs, safety standards, and infection control standards. You will be expected to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Key Responsibilities: - Evaluate speech and language, conduct swallow assessments, perform dye tests, and carry out modified barium swallow assessments. - Analyze hearing and speech language test results along with medical background information to diagnose and create treatment plans for speech, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing disorders. - Assess swallowing dysfunction in neurological and cancer patients using bedside assessments and modified barium swallow procedures. - Educate and guide patients" families or appropriate personnel on communication disorders to aid in the recovery process. - Utilize equipment such as vitalstim to enhance dysphagia. - Collaborate with other rehabilitation team members and medical staff to discuss patients" treatment plans, progress, and prognosis. - Develop suitable home and community programs to improve patients" performance in their environment. - Diagnose, provide intervention, and manage children with behavioral and neurological speech disorders. - Conduct diagnostic evaluations including client/parent interviews, collection and analysis of speech and language samples, standardized testing, and oral motor exams. - Show compassion while caring for unconscious patients and individuals with disabilities. - Participate in educational programs, engage in clinical research, evaluate outcomes, and present findings at national/international meetings or journals. - Contribute to the Quality Improvement Initiative and protocols of the organization.
