In this vital role you will work as part of a Product Team focusing on Unified Lab Management (ULM) platform accelerating Amgens product development and commercial manufacturing working together with a dynamic team of technical product owners, business analysts, test/validation engineers, project managers and scrum masters on the design, development, management, and optimization of Amgen Operations Electronic Lab Notebook and Instrument Data Acquisition Platform.
The role requires strong expertise in ELN Applications, Enterprise Application Integration, end-to-end data and process harmonization, as well as handling the seamless integration of Lab Instrument data to various enterprise business applications.
They should also have experience leading and effectively working with large, diverse and globally dispersed teams within a matrixed organization. Extensive collaboration with global cross functional teams is required to ensure seamless integration and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the end-to-end software development lifecycle, technical product ownership, business analysis , and be a Scaled Agile practitioner, coupled with leadership and transformation experience. This role demands the ability to drive and deliver against key organizational critical initiatives and deliver high-quality results in a matrixed organizational structure.
- Possesses strong software development skills and can quickly translate concepts into working code
- Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
- Create and maintain documentation on software architecture, design, deployment, disaster recovery, and operations.
- Identify and resolve technical challenges effectively.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements
- Work closely with product teams, business team , and other key partners.
- Develop and implement monitoring systems to track model performance and identify issues.
- Conduct testing and experimentation to optimize system performance.
- Work closely with data scientists and product teams to deliver system upgrades, enhancements , bug fixes.
- Develop and implement business process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Work closely with internal teams, external vendors, and business partners to address dependencies and resolve bottlenecks for critical issues
- Ownership in the development of test plans, scenarios to ensure robust validation of system updates, patches and new features
- Perform regression & functional testing to verify the changes do not negatively impact existing system functionality
- Work with various partners in business to determine pain points
- Leverage AI & automation to create efficient workflows
Basic Qualifications:
- Masters degree with 4 - 6 years of experience in Software Engineering, Data Science or Machine Learning Engineering OR
- Bachelors degree with 6 - 8 years of experience in I Software Engineering, Data Science or Machine Learning Engineering OR
- Diploma with 10 - 12 years of experience in Software Engineering, Data Science or Machine Learning Engineering
- Experienced with software engineering best-practices , including but not limited to version control (Git, Subversion, etc.), CI/CD (Jenkins, Maven etc.), automated unit testing.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work with large, complex datasets.
- Experience in using cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Ability to understand vendor requirements against business needs
- Develop and maintain various scripts for server task automation
- Experience with tools like ChatGPT, Co-Pilot, and other AI tools
- Experience working in data centers and responding to P1, P2 incidents
- Experience with ServiceNow, change management, ITIL processes & workflows
- Ability to work independently, excellent problem solving and professional written communications skills.
- Experience with Smartsheets /Excel/Tableau /Spotfire
- Experience supporting large number & variety of servers 200+
- Strong customer focus with ability to work closely with business
- Experience with enterprise CDS platform software (Empower/ Chromeleon /Unicorn)
