Special Educator

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess students strengths and needs through observation, testing, and collaboration.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate various disabilities.
• Provide one-on-one or small group instruction tailored to students abilities.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to support inclusion and differentiated learning.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and strategies.
• Maintain detailed records of student performance and interventions.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and professional development.
• Advocate for the needs and rights of students with special needs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Certification or license in Special Education (as per local regulations).
• Experience working with students with disabilities such as autism, learning disabilities, or emotional challenges.
• Knowledge of educational strategies, therapies, and assistive technologies.
• Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), speech therapy, or occupational therapy.
• Experience with inclusive classroom settings.
• Familiarity with legal and ethical guidelines in special education.
