Requirement of a Special Educator

Job Description:- Special Educator Location:- Tardeo, Mumbai Maharashtra

Full Time employee

Experience:- 3 to 12 years

Salary:- As per Industry standards

Qualification:- Any Graduate but must have completed B.Ed in Special Education or Mentally Retarded (MR) or Multiple disability (MD) or (ID) or (LD)

Languages:- Must be fluent in English, Marathi and Hindi Salary:- As per Industry Standards

Probation Period:- 6 months probation period. Note:- During probation period- 1month notice to be given and after confirmation - 3 months notice to be given.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assess skills to determine needs and develop teaching plans by conducting complete educational assessments using the latest tests and generating reports for the same.

• Adapt special ed. methodologies to meet the needs of clients.

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for clients as per needs, track progress, assess needs in line with goals set for each client.

• Plan, organize, and assign activities that are specific to each students abilities, teach and mentor students, in small groups, and one-on-one.

• Ensure reviews with parents/ guardians are conducted on a timely basis to discuss/ review progress.

• Involve self with the clinical psychologist and generate combined reports for assessments and recommendations.

• Supervise and mentor teacher assistants/ care givers who work with students with disabilities as per the need of individual cases.

• To educate a client’s family about how to accommodate and care for the client by giving advice and arranging support for family members, caretakers and clients

• To undertake general administrative tasks for example writing reports, maintaining records and case notes.

• Involvement the multi-disciplinary case discussion on a regular basis and documentation of all cases.

• To stay abreast with all latest developments in the field of specialization and introduce contemporary treatment methodologies as they evolve.

• Ensure that the centre remains “best in class” by striving for continuous improvement, innovation and building community awareness.
