About the Role

The Audio/Sound Engineer will be a key member of the Heartfulness community at Kanha Shanti Vanam, responsible for ensuring an exceptional audio experience for all visitors and practitioners. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, an ear for high-quality sound, and a deep understanding of the meditative and spiritual environment. The ideal candidate will be meticulous, proactive, and passionate about using technology to enhance the tranquil and profound atmosphere of our meditation halls and events.

Key Responsibilities

Audio Management for Meditation Halls

  • Audio System Setup & Maintenance: Manage, configure, and maintain the complex audio systems within the main meditation halls and smaller venues. This includes mixers, microphones (wired and wireless), speakers, and other peripheral equipment.
  • Live Sound Reinforcement: Operate the sound desk during meditation sessions and live discourses to ensure clear, balanced, and distortion-free audio for all attendees, both in person and via live broadcast.
  • Troubleshooting & Quality Control: Perform regular checks and diagnostic tests to preemptively identify and resolve any audio issues. Actively monitor sound quality during sessions to make real-time adjustments.

Event & Project Management

  • Event Planning & Execution: Collaborate with event organizers to understand their audio needs for various gatherings, from large-scale spiritual events to smaller workshops.
  • Live Event Production: Set up and operate sound equipment for various events, ensuring optimal audio for speakers, musicians, and performers. Manage sound for both the main audience and any stage monitoring needs.
  • Audio Recording & Post-Production: Handle the recording of live talks and discourses. Edit and master audio files for distribution, podcasts, and online archives, ensuring a high standard of sound quality.

Technical & Administrative Duties

  • Equipment Inventory & Management: Maintain a detailed inventory of all audio equipment, cables, and accessories. Proactively plan for equipment upgrades, repairs, and replacements.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including system diagrams, operational guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for various audio setups.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the IT, video production, and event teams to ensure seamless integration of audio, video, and lighting systems.
  • Research & Innovation: Stay updated on new audio technologies and best practices to continually improve the sound experience at Kanha.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience as an Audio/Sound Engineer, particularly in a live event or conference environment. Experience with large-scale audio systems is a major plus.
  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Hardware: Deep knowledge of professional audio equipment, including digital mixing consoles (e.g., Yamaha, Behringer), microphones (Shure, Sennheiser), signal processors, and PA systems.
  • Software: Proficiency in digital audio workstations (DAWs) like Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, or Audacity for editing, mixing, and mastering.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to quickly resolve technical issues under pressure.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with diverse groups, including spiritual guides, volunteers, and event staff.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen ear for sound quality and a meticulous approach to setting up and maintaining equipment.
  • Patience & Calmness: The ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment and during live events.
  • Physical Stamina: The role requires physical activity, including lifting and moving heavy audio equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree or certification in Audio Engineering, Sound Production, or a related field.
  • Experience with livestreaming audio and managing sound for a global online audience.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹75,000.00 - ₹150,000.00 per month
