  • Build and repair cable harnesses using crimping, soldering, and heat-shrink techniques.
  • Inspect wire terminations for proper wetting, fillet formation, and mechanical integrity.
  • Follow wiring diagrams, schematics, and work instructions accurately.

PCB Soldering (SMD & Through-Hole)

  • Perform hand soldering of SMD components (0402 and larger) using rework stations, hot air, and fine-tip irons.
  • Solder through-hole components onto PCBs, ensuring proper lead formation and solder flow.
  • Rework and repair PCB assemblies, including component removal, replacement, and trace repair.
  • Use microscopes and magnification tools to ensure solder quality and precision.

Inspection & Quality Control

  • Inspect solder joints per IPC standards for workmanship and reliability.
  • Identify and correct defects such as cold joints, bridges, and lifted pads.
  • Document work performed and complete production travelers or quality forms.

Tools & Equipment Use

  • Operate soldering irons, hot-air stations, tweezers, microscopes, crimp tools, and multimeters.
  • Maintain soldering equipment, tip condition, and ESD-safe work areas.

General Duties

  • Read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining quality.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on assembly or rework issues.
  • Follow safety, ESD, and cleanliness protocols at all times.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in hand soldering of wires, connectors, and PCB components.
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 (certification is a plus but not required).
  • Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions.
  • Strong manual dexterity, steady hand, and attention to detail.
  • Experience with SMD rework, hot-air systems, and precision soldering tools is preferred.
