Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Software Tester with strong expertise in data analytics testing and Power BI validation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for testing Power BI dashboards, validating data pipelines, ensuring correctness of DAX logic, and contributing to QA strategies for analytics projects. The role involves both manual and automated testing, and a close collaboration with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze business and reporting requirements to define the test scope
• Design and execute manual and automated test cases for:
  - Power BI dashboards - DAX formulas and logic - Data pipelines and source validations
• Validate report data against source systems using tools like SQL and Power BI Desktop
• Verify the accuracy and consistency of KPIs, measures, and visualizations
• Conduct UI/UX testing on Power BI reports (layout, filters, interactivity)
• Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions and gather user feedback
• Collaborate with developers to log, track, and resolve defects
• Test Row-Level Security (RLS) and user access control scenarios
• Maintain comprehensive QA documentation including:
  - Test plans, test cases, checklists - Data validation logs
• Support the maintenance of Power BI documentation (e.g. report-to-source mapping, DAX formulas)
• Contribute to QA strategy improvements and best practices in data analytics testing

Required Skills & Experience (Specific to Power BI Testing):

• In-depth understanding of BI testing and data validation
• Proficiency in SQL (joins, aggregations, data comparisons)
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of Power BI Desktop, including:
  - Data modeling - DAX expressions
• Experience with Power BI Service (publishing reports, RLS, data refresh)
• Experience in designing and executing manual test cases
• Ability to interpret and test business logic, KPIs, and calculations
• Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
• Excellent communication and documentation skills

General Experience & Skills:

• 7+ years of experience in software testing using a disciplined QA methodology
• 4+ years working in an Agile development environment
• 4+ years using Microsoft Azure DevOps or equivalent test management tools
• 3+ years of experience in automated testing using tools such as:
  - Selenium WebDriver (C#) - JMeter, SoapUI, etc.
• Hands-on experience in various types of testing:
  - Functional, regression, performance, and security
• Proven ability to work both independently and in small agile teams (24 members)
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
• Understanding of software architecture and network technologies for white-box and security testing (preferred)

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field
• ISTQB Certification or equivalent (preferred)
