Software Tester

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse requirements, user stories, and design documents to create detailed test cases.
  
• Perform various types of testing such as:
  
• Functional Testing
  
• Regression Testing
  
• Integration Testing
  
• System Testing
  
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  
• Smoke & Sanity Testing
  
• Execute test cases manually and report defects using bug-tracking tools.
  
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA leads to ensure timely resolution of issues.
  
• Track, prioritize, and verify bugs after fixes.
  
• Prepare test reports, documentation, and evidence of test execution.
  
• Participate in review meetings and provide feedback on product quality and improvements.
  
• Ensure adherence to QA processes and best practices.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  
• Proven experience as a Manual Tester or QA Tester.
  
• Strong understanding of software testing concepts, methodologies, and SDLC/STLC.
  
• Hands-on experience with bug-tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla, Trello).
  
• Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases.
  
• Basic understanding of databases and ability to run simple SQL queries (optional but preferred).
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  
• Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality products.
  

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  
• Knowledge of API testing (Postman) is a plus.
  
• Basic exposure to automation tools (Selenium, etc.) is an advantage.
  
• Understanding of version control systems (Git).
