Software Test Engineer

As a member of Google's Hardware Testing Engineering team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability of our custom-designed machines that form a significant part of the global computing infrastructure. Your responsibilities will involve designing test equipment for prototypes, developing protocols to scale tests globally, and collaborating with design engineers to enhance hardware quality and reliability. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Additionally, you should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Linux kernel driver test automation and framework development, as well as 2 years of experience in testing embedded software on SoC on Linux, Android, Real-Time Operating System, or BareMetal. Your experience should include familiarity with hardware architecture, board schematics, protocols, and standards. Preferred qualifications for this position include a Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, along with 4 years of experience working with prototype devices. Proficiency in Android application development and excellent programming skills in Python will be advantageous. In this role, you will contribute to the development and delivery of silicon systems, create and maintain policies and procedures for enhancing productivity, and identify test requirements while selecting appropriate tools and methods. You will drive test automation using existing frameworks and collaborate with the Engineering Productivity team to develop new frameworks based on test requirements.
