Software Senior Principal Engineer (I9) - Windows OS

As a Senior Principal Software Engineer specializing in Windows OS at Dell Technologies in Bangalore, you will be part of the Software Engineering team that works on delivering next-generation software application enhancements and new products. Your role involves designing and developing software for platforms, peripherals, applications, and diagnostics using cutting-edge technologies and methodologies. **Key Responsibilities:** - Spearhead the development to accelerate delivery and improve reliability. - Architect and implement advanced Windows OS features, including distributed IPC (Named Pipes, RPCs, COM), async programming, and LINQ-based constructs. - Work closely with BIOS, firmware, and driver teams to optimize system performance and hardware-software integration. - Translate customer needs into technical solutions and identify emerging trends to guide product direction and innovation. - Lead technical reviews, mentor junior engineers, and enforce best practices in design, coding, and testing. **Qualifications Required:** - Proven experience in designing and developing complete end-to-end products with solid architecture ownership. - Expert-level knowledge in C and .NET constructs, including LINQ, Events, Delegates, Lambdas, Extension Methods, and Async Programming. - Strong debugging skills with hands-on experience in Windows application development and understanding hardware-software tradeoffs. - Solid experience with CI/CD, unit testing, GenAI frameworks, Microsoft ecosystem, and Atlassian tools. - Sound knowledge of OS concepts, firmware, BIOS, device drivers, system internals, and network tools/utilities. In addition, it is desirable to have an Engineering Degree with 15-20 years of relevant experience and hands-on expertise in Windows OS internals, distributed systems, IPC mechanisms, multithreading, and performance optimization.
