Software Maintenance Engineer

As a Software Maintenance Engineer at Red Hat Customer Experience and Engagement (CEE) team, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance to ensure that customers maximize the benefits of Red Hat Runtimes products. You will collaborate with open source developers globally, offer developer-to-developer assistance, and contribute to open source software communities. Your key responsibilities will include: - Providing detailed technical assistance to customers for Red Hat Runtimes products - Engaging with open source developers worldwide and offering developer-to-developer assistance - Collaborating with in-house developers to write new code, fix and improve code, and provide technical solutions - Acting as the technical point of contact for a technology within the Red Hat Runtimes suite - Improving product documentation, creating knowledge base articles, and working on patches and feature requests - Advising customers on architectural design decisions and helping them integrate Red Hat products into their solutions - Working with other open source projects to assist customers in integrating Red Hat products Qualifications required for this role include: - Good understanding of Core Java concepts and Jakarta JEE design patterns - Professional development experience in Jakarta JEE platform - Hands-on experience with application server technologies like Red Hat JBoss EAP/Wildfly/WebSphere/WebLogic - Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills - Willingness to learn new open source middleware technologies - Additional experience in frameworks like Hibernate/JPA and Spring, OpenShift, Web Services (REST/SOAP), JTA Transactions, Git, and Maven is a plus - Clear and effective English communication skills - Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with customers and team members A BE/B.Tech degree in engineering or computer science is preferred, but equivalent experience in enterprise IT will also be considered.
