Description
The role involves assisting the Head of Development in executing technical and personnel management duties within the global Delivery function. As an Engineering Manager, you will report to the local Head of Development in your region. Your responsibilities include acting as a direct line manager for a group of Development Leads and/or Senior Analyst Developers, ensuring overall performance, promoting a culture of excellence, and setting and maintaining a technical roadmap for the solution center. You will also be a key contact person for technical issues, participate in recruitment activities, support client engagements, and provide input into project resourcing. In addition, you will implement performance improvement plans, identify opportunities for developer training, and work on process improvements within the development team. Collaboration with the solution center leadership team, providing coaching and mentorship to Development Leads, and ensuring work-life balance for staff are crucial aspects of the role. You will also be responsible for onboarding new starters, improving hardware and software resources, and upholding coding standards and best practices. To be successful in this role, you should have a first-class bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, along with at least 10 years of experience in large-scale technology delivery projects. Proficiency in Microsoft .NET development products, web development technologies, and financial products and markets is essential. You should possess strong industry knowledge, line management experience, and a passion for helping individuals achieve their career goals.
