Software Engineer Specialist

As a Senior Product Developer at FIS, you will be an integral part of the Managed Services team, collaborating closely with clients, systems development engineers, and infrastructure to provide support and analysis for the Core Application (Compass). With over 7 years of experience in COBOL and a real-world background in a production support environment, you will leverage your technical expertise in Oracle, SQL, and COBOL/Mainframe to troubleshoot and develop solutions effectively. Your responsibilities will include working on Compass Product, having a technical expert level in Oracle version 9i and above, and extensive knowledge of SQL. Additionally, you should be well-versed in Oracle Application Server 10g, Oracle Forms 10g, and Reports 10g. Familiarity with relational database security and Unix operating systems will be advantageous, along with the ability to understand Oracle database architecture and DBA activities/tasks. Knowledge of Group Insurance will be considered a plus. Moreover, you should be open to working 2nd shift from 1PM to 10PM IST and 3rd shift from 5:30AM to 2:30AM, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet business requirements. Your excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively and work both independently and as part of a team, will be crucial in this role. Being available 24x7 to support major incidents or critical business periods is essential, and willingness to travel to client locations as needed is expected. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field of study.
