Job Description

Role Overview: You will be a part of the User Accounting Platform team at Stripe, responsible for building an enterprise-grade accounting ledger for users to record all financial activities on Stripe. Your main focus will be on designing and building a high volume, fully configurable ledger that enables core accounting functionalities like Revenue Recognition & Reconciliation. You will work on creating platforms and system solutions that are scalable globally and partner with various functions at Stripe to have a direct impact on user-facing business. Key Responsibilities: - Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems across different engineering teams at Stripe. - Collaborate with the Revenue Recognition, Revenue Reporting, and Reconciliation Product teams to understand their unique data and reporting requirements and provide tailored technical support. - Work with engineers company-wide to develop new features on a large scale. - Foster a collaborative environment by engaging in discussions and decision-making processes with stakeholders in various domains within Stripe. Qualifications Required: - Minimum of 4+ years of experience in delivering, extending, and maintaining large-scale distributed systems. - Ability to design elegant systems that abstract complex patterns, especially in the financial industry. - High standards for yourself and others when working with production systems. - Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of completing projects involving various technologies and systems. - Proficiency in Java, Scala, and Ruby; however, a willingness to learn new languages is valued more than specific language expertise. - Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environments and a curiosity to deeply understand the domain. - Enjoy collaborating with a diverse group of individuals with different expertise. Additional Company Details: In-office expectations at Stripe vary depending on the role, team, and location. For instance, Stripes at the Bucharest, Romania site are expected to be in the office 80% of the time, while those in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City, Mexico, and Bengaluru, India work 100% from the office. Some teams may have greater in-office attendance requirements to support users and workflows effectively. This approach aims to balance in-person collaboration and flexibility where possible.,
