As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be a valuable member of a team that focuses on developing Cisco's routing technology, which is widely recognized as the preferred transport medium for mission-critical networks in large enterprises. Your role will involve testing products used by leading service providers globally, offering you the chance to collaborate with a dynamic technical community within the Business Unit. You will work alongside a group of seasoned engineers, testing some of the world's largest Service Provider Routers that are constantly evolving to support innovative customer business models. Your interactions with top talent in the industry will provide both a fun and challenging work environment. Preferred Qualifications: - Demonstrated excellence in all endeavors with a strong understanding of distributed/centralized hardware architectures of routers/switches. - Proficiency in L2, L3, and MPLS protocols, as well as forwarding infrastructure. - Familiarity with deployment architectures in routing and switching domains. - Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, inclusive, and agile setting with cross-functional teams. - 5-9 years of relevant experience. - Educational background in BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech/MS in CS/EE/IT/ECE, MCA, or similar field. - Hands-on experience with real-time operating systems like VxWorks, pSOS, IOS, Linux, etc. - Proficient in Unix/Linux with knowledge of Linux virtualization. - Knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals, multicast protocols, network synchronization, segment routing, SDN, manageability (telemetry, gRPC, Netconf/Yang, etc.). - Desirable certifications in Cisco Networking such as CCIE, CCNP, etc. #WeAreCisco where every individual's unique skills and perspectives converge to drive our shared purpose of enabling an inclusive future for all.
