Software Engineer II, SRE

Role Overview: At RedPin, as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the high availability, stellar performance, and rich feature set of our software solutions. Your responsibilities will include monitoring the production environment, building and managing platform infrastructure and applications, optimizing system performance, providing operational support for distributed software applications, and designing scalable infrastructure on AWS. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance services through automation and uphold service-level objectives. Key Responsibilities: - Monitor availability and maintain system health in the production environment - Develop software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications - Enhance reliability, quality, and time-to-market of software solutions - Optimize system performance, innovate for continual improvement, and anticipate customer needs - Provide operational support for large-scale distributed software applications - Design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable infrastructure on AWS - Analyze metrics for performance tuning and fault finding - Collaborate with development teams on testing and release procedures - Consult on system design, manage platforms, and plan capacity - Implement automation for sustainable systems and services - Balance feature development speed with reliability based on service-level objectives Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred) - 4-10 years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or in a similar role - Strong knowledge of system architecture, infrastructure design, and best practices - Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages like Python, Bash, or similar technologies - Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, including infrastructure provisioning and management - Understanding of networking principles and protocols - Familiarity with Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate JPA, Python, React, and .NET technologies - Knowledge of API gateway solutions like Kong and Layer 7 - Experience working with databases such as Elastic, SQL Server, Postgres SQL - Proficiency in managing servers like Tomcat, JBoss, Apache, NGINX, and IIS - Experience with containerization using EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) - Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools like Jenkins, Artifactory, and Ansible - Proficiency in monitoring tools such as Coralogix, CloudWatch, Zabbix, Grafana, and Prometheus - Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills - Excellent communication and collaboration skills - Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks - Self-motivated and able to work independently,
