Job Description

Role Overview: As a Software Engineer-2 at Mastercard, you will play a crucial role in leading a team of engineers while also being hands-on in coding activities. Your primary responsibility will be to spend 70% of your time coding and engaging in code-related tasks, with the remaining 30% dedicated to coaching and guiding your team members. You will be recognized as the technical authority within the team, driving innovation and growth through your expertise. Key Responsibilities: - Immerse yourself in IDEs, writing non-feature code, collaborating on interfaces, tests, and architecture fitness functions. - Enforce contextual mappings and drive the implementation of consumer-driven contracts to facilitate rapid evolution and learning of the domain model. - Bring cutting-edge practices to life, incorporating tools like Feature flags, fitness functions, and other frameworks to enhance the value of features delivered by the engineering teams. - Work on complex enterprise-wide initiatives, collaborate with business/product owners to architect new services, and actively contribute to agile processes and decisions. - Lead Guild initiatives, mentor engineers, simplify architectures, and drive organizational priorities. - Engage in technical interviews, contribute to architectural meetings, and provide recommendations for job promotions based on accomplishments. - Ensure applications are built to scale, perform optimally, and adhere to security and regulatory standards. Qualifications Required: - Progressive career in design and development across multiple languages. - Expertise in secure coding standards, vulnerability management, and advanced testing setups. - Understanding of CI/CD concepts, operating systems, design patterns, APIs, and performance engineering. - Experience in building resilient distributed systems and knowledge of various technologies. - Experience in DevOps best practices. - Ability to articulate complex architecture patterns, engage engineers, and promote standard software practices. - Commitment to information security and adherence to best practices.
