Software Development Test Automation Engineer

You will be joining Hitachi Vantara as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) working within the Hitachi Vantara Engineering software development team. Your main responsibility will be to design, develop, and test the Hitachi NAS Platform product. As a part of an agile team, you will actively participate in self-organization to meet sprint goals and contribute to the design, testing, and integration of the product. You will be involved in software design, coding, hands-on testing, and automated test development work, ensuring product quality. Your role will include collaborating with the development team to design and implement automated tests, conducting ad-hoc and exploratory tests, building and supporting automated testing infrastructure, and testing software across various components. You will also be responsible for maintaining existing tests, diagnosing and resolving issues, and working within an agile scrum team to achieve continuous improvements. Additionally, you will produce and maintain documentation, ensure good test coverage, and promote test automation for shorter integration and deployment cycles. To qualify for this position, you should have a Computer Science degree or equivalent industry experience with at least 8 years in quality engineering or development. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, and/or Java is required, along with sysadmin skills across major operating systems, storage systems, hypervisors, and containers. A self-starter with a love for learning, strong attention to detail, adaptability to change, and excellent communication skills are essential. Experience with technologies like NAS, storage systems, networking, virtualization, and file serving protocols would be advantageous.
