Job Description

As a Software Developer specializing in Power Electronics at Siemens, you will be involved in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining firmware for various power electronic circuits like PV inverters, hybrid inverters, battery control systems, and DC-DC converters. Your role will require collaborating with hardware engineers, optimizing control algorithms, conducting system-level testing, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: - Develop real-time capable embedded software for power electronic circuits of grid-connected inverters and related products. - Analyze requirements, create functional specifications, software architecture, and documentation. - Design and implement firmware for various power electronics systems. - Optimize control algorithms for power conversion, grid interaction, and energy management. - Collaborate with hardware engineers for firmware integration. - Conduct system-level testing, debugging, and maintain firmware documentation. - Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in power electronics fields. - Support the development of new features and improvements based on customer feedback. Requirements: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. - 5+ years of experience in digital signal processing, control engineering, power electronics, and C programming. - Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, software version management tools, and real-time microcontrollers. - Strong understanding of power electronics, control systems, and embedded systems. - Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and communication skills. - Knowledge of agile methods, DevOps mindset, and continuous integration. - Familiarity with communication protocols, real-time operating systems, and industry compliance requirements. Preferred Skills: - Knowledge of grid-tied and off-grid PV inverter technologies. - Experience with communication protocols like Modbus, CAN, and Ethernet. - Understanding of industry standards for power electronics applications. Personal and Social Skills: - Structured and independent work approach. - Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively. - Result-oriented, committed, and flexible. - Proficient in English language. Interfaces: - Collaboration with specialist departments in development, production, service, quality, and purchasing. - Technical contact for component manufacturers, suppliers, and external certification institutes.
