Software Developer

As a Software Developer (Backend - APIs) at the newly established Global Shared Service Center IT in Pune, you will play a crucial role in the development, operation, and support of a Business Application used in different business areas in DNV based on the PLM tool Teamcenter from Siemens. Your primary responsibility will be to support the global PLM team in Teamcenter by developing backend implementations and building Generic APIs for the Teamcenter application. In this role, you will work on implementing software solutions based on requirement design specifications and conduct unit tests. You will be involved in coding features, bug-fixing, and ensuring adherence to coding and quality standards. Identifying areas of improvement within the application to enhance performance will also be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will manage, maintain, and test API versions across all development environments, troubleshoot API issues in production, and implement best coding practices while adhering to IT security standards. The ideal candidate for this position should possess a good understanding of software development with multi-layered architectures, primarily using Java or C# as a primary technology. Knowledge in PLM domain or Rest APIs is considered beneficial. With at least 6 years of work experience in backend development, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field, and a strong knowledge of secure coding standards and best practices, you are well-suited for this role. Moreover, you should have proven experience in developing commercial-grade application software using Microsoft Development environments, compilers, and tools like Visual Studio. Having a deep understanding of software development principles and methodologies, experience with software design patterns, and knowledge of database design and management systems will be advantageous. Familiarity with Object-Oriented concepts, C# .NET development, Java, and using Git for source code management is essential. Additional skills such as API development with REST APIs, API gateway, OpenAPI Specifications, POSTMAN, Docker, containerization technologies, C++, and experience in Siemens Teamcenter customization and development are considered nice-to-have for this position.
