About The Role
We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic BigCommerce Developer to join our growing eCommerce engineering team.The selected candidate will be working on a high-impact digital transformation project for a leading Australian e-commerce giant, collaborating with international stakeholders and delivering best-in-class shopping experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain custom BigCommerce themes, components, and APIs.
- Implement responsive, accessible, and performance-optimized UIs using React.js and Tailwind CSS.
- Build server-side services and headless integrations using Node.js and REST/GraphQL APIs.
- Integrate with Contentful and other headless CMS platforms for content-driven eCommerce.
- Customize and optimize eCommerce flows (product listing, PDP, cart, checkout, etc.
- Implement rich micro-interactions and animations using GSAP or similar tools.
- Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to ship features on time.
- Participate in code reviews, QA processes, and CI/CD deployment workflows.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in BigCommerce development (Stencil and/or Headless).
- Proficient in Node.js, React.js, JavaScript (ES6+), and frontend build tools.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and custom BigCommerce APIs.
- Deep knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, SASS, and Tailwind CSS.
- Good understanding of performance tuning, SEO, and mobile-first development.
- Familiar with version control systems like Git and Agile project management.
Preferred/Bonus Skills
- Experience with Contentful, Shopify, or other eCommerce/CMS platforms.
- Animation experience using GSAP, Framer Motion, or similar.
- Exposure to TypeScript, Next.js, or JAMstack ecosystems.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployments, and testing frameworks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 6+ years of total experience in web development.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, comfortable working in distributed teams.
