Summary:

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver comprehensive, engaging, and curriculum/-compliant lesson plans for Social Science (History, Geography, Civics, and Economics) for Grades 8 and 9.
• Implement student/-centered teaching methodologies, including project/-based learning, group discussions, and interactive activities.
• Assess student learning through regular quizzes, assignments, projects, and examinations, providing timely and constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and academic performance.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and department heads to align teaching strategies with school/-wide academic goals.
• Utilize digital tools and educational technology to enhance classroom instruction and student engagement.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of the Social Science curriculum and assessment frameworks.

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in Social Sciences, Education, or a related field; postgraduate qualification (MA) preferred.
• Valid teaching certification (e.g., B.Ed., NCTE/-approved qualification) required.
• Minimum of 1 to 3 years of teaching experience in a school setting, preferably in Grades 8/9.
• Strong command of English communication skills for instruction, assessment, and parent interaction.
• Proven ability to create dynamic, student/-focused lesson plans and deliver them effectively.
• Demonstrated experience in classroom management and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
• Proficiency in using digital learning platforms and tools (e.g., Google Classroom, MS Office, LMS).
• Commitment to continuous professional growth and collaborative teamwork.
• Ability to work in a fast/-paced, results/-driven academic environment.
