Snowflake Administrator

We're looking for a highly skilled and motivated Snowflake Administrator to join our team in Pune. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the overall health, performance, and security of our Snowflake environment. This role requires a strong technical background in cloud data platforms, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills to collaborate effectively with various teams.

Required Certification:

SnowPro Core

SnowPro® Advanced: Administrator - Preferred.

SnowPro® Advanced: Data Engineer

SnowPro® Advanced: Data Analyst

SnowPro® Advanced: Data Scientist

SnowPro® Advanced: Platform

Key Responsibilities

• Administration & Maintenance: Perform routine administration tasks, including user and role management, account provisioning, and access control (RBAC).
• Performance & Optimization: Monitor and tune the performance of Snowflake environments, including query optimization, warehouse sizing, and auto-suspend/resume configurations to ensure cost-efficiency and optimal performance.
• Security & Governance: Implement and enforce security measures like data masking and tagging policies to protect sensitive information. Track and audit data access patterns.
• Cost Management: Monitor Snowflake credit usage and provide detailed cost reporting to manage and control runaway expenses.
• Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and other IT teams to support data-related activities and streamline operations.
• Automation: Automate administrative tasks, such as role provisioning and audits, using tools and custom scripts.
• Disaster Recovery: Plan and manage disaster recovery strategies and data retention policies.

Technical Skills:

• Expertise in Snowflake: A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with Snowflake administration, including a strong understanding of its architecture, virtual warehouses, and security features.
• Snowflake Certification (SnowPro Core or Advanced)
• SQL Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in SQL for querying, managing, and optimizing data.
• Cloud Platforms: Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP), as Snowflake is a multi-cloud platform.
• Programming/Scripting: Experience with scripting languages like Python and Shell scripting for automation.
• ETL/ELT Tools: Familiarity with data integration tools like dbt, Matillion, or Informatica is a plus.
• CI/CD: Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins for deploying Snowflake SQL scripts.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹2,000,000.00 - ₹2,500,000.00 per year
