SME - Sensor & Connected Systems

Responsibilities:

• Act as a technical advisor for IoT/sensor-driven solutions across various industry and public sector projects.
• Design and review architectures for sensor networks, edge computing and cloud-connected platforms.
• Define data acquisition and integration strategies using sensor devices, IoT gateways and communication modules.
• Guide selection and integration of appropriate communication protocols (e.g., LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, Zigbee, BLE, LTE-M, 5G).
• Evaluate hardware (sensors, edge devices) and software (platforms, protocols, middleware) components for scalable deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solution alignment with functional requirements, data strategies and cybersecurity guidelines.
• Develop PoCs and MVPs for emerging use cases (e.g., smart cities, industrial IoT, smart agriculture, environmental monitoring).
• Support RFPs, technical evaluations, solution presentations and client engagements as a domain expert.
• Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies and regulatory developments in IoT and communications.

Mandatory skill sets:

• Proven expertise in IoT solution design, sensor data acquisition and end-to-end architecture.
• Strong understanding of wired and wireless communication protocols (e.g., MQTT, CoAP, LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, Modbus, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, 5G).
• Experience with IoT platforms such as Azure IoT, AWS IoT, ThingsBoard, or similar.
• Familiarity with embedded systems, edge computing and device integration techniques.
• Strong understanding of data flow pipelines from sensors to cloud platforms and integration with analytics engines.
• Hands-on experience with protocol stacks, sensor interfacing and field deployment best practices.
• Ability to lead technical teams and advise clients on strategic technology adoption.

Preferred skill sets:

• Exposure to smart infrastructure use cases (e.g., utilities, transportation, smart cities, healthcare, agriculture).
• Experience working on government or large-scale public sector IoT projects.
• Understanding of data privacy, device security and interoperability standards in connected systems.
• Familiarity with open standards such as oneM2M, OCF, or industrial frameworks like OPC UA.
• Certification in IoT systems, network architecture, or solution engineering (e.g., AWS/Azure IoT Certified, CCNA IoT, or equivalent).
• Certifications in IoT platforms, wireless protocols, or systems engineering (desirable).

Education qualification:

• Bachelors degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Master’s degree in Embedded Systems, IoT, Communications Engineering, or related field (preferred).
