Job Description

The Supervisor oversees and coordinates the daily activities of construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role involves supervising construction workers, managing site operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and liaising between project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. The Construction Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining the quality and efficiency of the project from start to finish. Key Responsibilities: 1. Site Supervision: Supervise daily operations at the construction site, including managing workers, subcontractors, and other personnel. Ensure all construction activities are carried out according to project plans, schedules, and specifications. Assign tasks to workers and subcontractors based on project requirements and site conditions. 2. Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety policies and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards. Ensure that the construction site is kept clean and organized, promoting a safe working environment. 3. Quality Control: Monitor construction quality to ensure it meets project specifications and industry standards. Identify and resolve any issues with workmanship, materials, or methods. Collaborate with project managers to address any deviations from the construction plans. 4. Scheduling and Coordination: Coordinate the delivery of materials, equipment, and tools to the construction site. Ensure that construction activities are completed on schedule and delays are minimized. Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely completion of tasks. 5. Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for workers, contractors, and subcontractors on-site. Report to project managers on project progress, delays, and any concerns or issues. Document daily activities, including work completed, labor used, materials delivered, and any incidents or accidents. 6. Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the construction process, including delays, material shortages, or technical problems. Make decisions to ensure project timelines and budgets are adhered to. 7. Resource Management: Manage labor resources, ensuring proper allocation of personnel based on project needs. Monitor the usage and inventory of construction materials to avoid shortages or overages. 8. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all work completed, including daily logs, time sheets, and materials used. Assist in preparing progress reports and other documentation for stakeholders and project managers. Required Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred. Experience: 5+ years of experience in construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. In-depth knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents. Proficiency in project management software and tools. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
