Site Reliability Engineering Manager

As the Manager, Site Reliability Engineering at Cvent, you will play a crucial role in scaling systems and ensuring stability, reliability, performance, and rapid deployments of the platform. Your responsibilities will include setting the direction and strategy for your team, shaping the overall SRE program, and supporting growth by ensuring a robust, scalable, cloud-first infrastructure. You will be expected to own site stability, performance, and capacity planning while participating in the software development life cycle to ensure reliability is built in from the beginning. Being a part of the Technology R&D Team, you will demonstrate emerging and current technologies, methods, and processes to enhance software deployment processes, improve security, reduce risk, and enhance the end-user experience. You will be responsible for continuously improving CI/CD tools, processes, and procedures, and managing complex technical projects and a team of SREs. Additionally, you will recruit and develop staff, fostering a culture of excellence in site reliability and automation. To excel in this role, you should have at least 12 years of hands-on technical leadership and people management experience, with a minimum of 3 years of demonstrable experience leading site reliability and performance in large-scale, high-traffic environments. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with a deep understanding of SRE concepts and the DevOps culture. You should also possess expertise in automation, CI/CD processes, Unix/Linux environments, and large-scale distributed systems. Familiarity with major public cloud services like AWS, GCP, or Azure is required, as well as experience with modern platforms such as Fargate, Docker, and Kubernetes. In this role, you will foster a learning and ownership culture within the team and the larger organization, ensuring best engineering practices through automation, infrastructure as code, robust system monitoring, alerting, auto scaling, and more. Your ability to represent the technology perspective and priorities to leadership and stakeholders will be crucial, along with your commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in site reliability and automation.,
