Job Description QA/QC (Project Site) Manager

Position: QA/QC Site Head – Grouting Works

Location: Project Site

Qualification:

• B.Tech / B.E in Civil Engineering with minimum 15 years of relevant experience

OR

• Diploma in Civil Engineering with minimum 18 years of relevant experience

1. Key Responsibilities:

1.1Quality Assurance & Quality Control

Establish, implement, and monitor the Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) and Inspection &

Test Plan (ITP) for Jet grouting and TaM grouting works.

Ensure compliance with Client specifications, international standards (EN, ASTM, IS

codes), and contractual quality requirements.

Review and approve method statements, WPS/PQR (if applicable), SOPs, and

checklists.

Monitor calibration and performance of laboratory/testing equipment.

Conduct pre-qualification trials for grout mix designs and verify laboratory/field test

results.

1.2Site Supervision & Control

Oversee QA/QC engineers, laboratory in-charge, and technicians on site.

Witness grouting operations (jet & TAM), grout preparation, and injection pressure

monitoring.

Ensure slurry/grout materials (cement, bentonite, polymers, admixtures) meet specified

quality parameters.

Monitor borehole drilling, flushing, and pre/post-grouting records.

Coordinate with site execution team to minimize non-conformances.

1.3Documentation & Reporting

Maintain and verify daily quality reports, cube/core strength reports, permeability test

records, grout volume/pressure logs.

Prepare QA/QC documents for client submission and project handover.

Issue and close NCRs, site observations, and corrective action reports.

Coordinate with client/consultant for quality inspections, approvals, and audits.

1.4Health, Safety, and Compliance

Ensure all QA/QC activities are carried out in compliance with HSE protocols.

Verify proper disposal/treatment of bentonite slurry and environmental compliance.

2. Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of grouting techniques (Jet Grouting, TAM grouting, permeation

grouting, etc.).

Hands-on experience with grout mix design, rheological property checks (viscosity,

density, bleed, setting time).

Familiar with testing standards (IS, ASTM, EN) related to grouts, concrete, and slurry.

Proficient in MS Office, QA/QC documentation, and reporting formats.

Leadership and team management skills for handling multi-disciplinary QA/QC team.

3. Experience Requirements

Must have worked on grouting projects (dam foundations, cut-off walls, underground

structures, nuclear/infra projects).

Prior NPCIL/NTPC/large infra/underground project experience will be preferred.

Knowledge of NDT techniques, permeability testing, Lugeon tests, core testing will be an
