Role & responsibilities

1. Theme Engineering

• Build custom, high-conversion Shopify & Shopify Plus themes from scratch using Liquid.
• Extend/refactor marketplace themes with new layouts, sections, and animations.
• Ensure responsive, pixel-perfect UI across all devices and browsers.

2. App & API Integration

• Integrate third-party or custom apps (e.g., loyalty, subscriptions, CRM, ERP).
• Use Shopify REST/Admin APIs & webhooks for real-time syncing (orders, inventory, customer lifecycle).
• Build lightweight middleware (Node.js / Python / PHP) when native integrations fall short.

3. Store Optimization

• Optimize Lighthouse/PageSpeed scores, Core Web Vitals, and liquid-render performance.
• Implement SEO schema, rich data, CRO best practices, and server-side tracking (GA4, Meta Pixel, etc.).

4. Migration & Upgrades

• Migrate stores from Magento, WooCommerce, or custom stacks to Shopify without downtime.
• Execute upgrades including one-page checkout and checkout extensibility.

5. Collaboration & Delivery

• Convert Figma/PSD designs into live Shopify stores with rapid iteration cycles
• Work closely with marketers, designers, and analytics teams.
• Manage sprints, QA your own code, and deliver in an agency-paced environment.

Must-Have Skills & Experience:

• 25 years of professional Shopify development experience (10+ stores end-to-end).
• Proficient in Liquid, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, JavaScript (ES6+), and a modern JS framework (Alpine.js, React, Vue, etc.).
• Deep understanding of Shopify APIs, metafields, and webhooks.
• Hands-on with Git and task runners/bundlers like Webpack, Vite, or Gulp.
• Strong knowledge of site speed optimization, SEO, and CRO best practices.
• Confident in scoping, estimating, and communicating technical solutions directly with clients.

  Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with Shopify Plus, Shopify Flow, Hydrogen, or Remix.
• Understanding of headless commerce, Storefront API, GraphQL, JAMstack, or PWA.
• Familiarity with GA4, Meta CAPI, and server-side tagging tools (GTM, Stape, RudderStack, etc.).

Previous experience in an agency or managing multiple clients.
