Shopify Developer

Role & responsibilities

• Build, customize, and maintain Shopify themes and online stores.
• Convert design mock-ups and ideas into fully working Shopify websites.
• Add custom features using Shopify Liquid, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, and JSON.
• Work with Shopify OS 2.0, create new sections, customize templates, and manage meta fields/metaobjects.
• Create features like product badges, mega menus, variant color/size swatches, sliders, banners, and cart drawer updates.
• Integrate third-party apps, APIs, webhooks, and payment gateways.-Improve website speed by optimizing code, images, scripts, fonts, and overall performance.
• Use tools like Lighthouse, GTmetrix, and Shopify Speed Insights to check and improve performance.
• Find and fix issues like Liquid errors, JavaScript problems, app conflicts, and theme bugs.
• Work closely with designers, marketers, and developers to deliver smooth and user-friendly e-commerce features.
• Keep yourself updated with Shopifys latest features, updates, and best practices.

Key Competencies

• Good knowledge of Shopify Liquid and theme structure.
• Strong skills in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and responsive design.
• Experience with Shopify OS 2.0, JSON templates, and custom theme settings.
• Ability to work with metafields, metaobjects, and dynamic content.
• Comfortable integrating apps, APIs, and working with Shopifys ecosystem.
• Basic understanding of SEO, website speed, and structured data.
• Good debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to identify layout issues, performance problems, and code errors.
• Strong communication skills and good command of English.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on clean, high-quality work.
• Professional, disciplined, and able to work well with a team.
• Self-motivated, eager to learn, and open to new tools and technology.
  

Additional Advantage (Not Mandatory)

• Experience with Git or version control tools.
• Knowledge of Shopify Plus features and checkout customization.
• Understanding of CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization).
• Knowledge of SEO strategies, schema markup, and tagging.
