Job Description

Role & responsibilities Job Description: '1) Provide clear and timely instructions to control room operators for smooth and safe furnace operations. 2) Monitor control systems to ensure operational parameters remain within set limits. 3) Supervise and coordinate the charging of raw materials into the furnace as per production schedules. 4) Ensure accurate tracking and documentation of raw material usage and furnace feed ratios. 5) Monitor and supervise metal and slag separation processes to maintain quality and safety standards. 6) Coordinate corrective measures in case of deviations in slag-metal separation efficiency. 7) Oversee mobilization and effective deployment of shift labour to ensure operational continuity. 8) Maintain discipline, work allocation, and safety compliance among the labour force. 9) Act as the primary coordinator for breakdown or maintenance events. 10) Liaise with Mechanical and Electrical departments to ensure timely repairs and minimal downtime. Preferred candidate profile Key Skills Required: '1) Understanding of furnace operations, raw material charging, and metal/slag separation techniques. 2) Familiarity with industrial control systems and equipment monitoring. 3) Strong ability to communicate and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including control room, mechanical, and electrical departments. 4) Quick decision-making skills during breakdowns or process deviations. 5) Ability to analyze operational issues and implement practical solutions. 6) Proven leadership in managing shift labour and ensuring task accountability. 7) Skilled in managing labour discipline and shift scheduling. 8) Accuracy in tracking furnace inputs/outputs and monitoring process parameters. 9) In-depth knowledge of industrial safety practices, especially in high-temperature, hazardous environments. 10) Ability to perform under pressure and adjust to dynamic operational needs.
