Shift InCharge For Fractionation Plant

Role & responsibilities

Shift InCharge - Fractionation is responsible for overseeing the design, fabrication, commissioning, and operational efficiency of the Solvent Fractionation plant. This includes ensuring optimum plant performance, maintaining safety and hygiene standards, supervising daily operations, and leading process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.

2 Plant Design, Fabrication & Commissioning

• Oversee the design, fabrication, and commissioning of the Solvent Fractionation-2 (SF-2) plant.
• Ensure proper installation, testing, and commissioning of equipment, machinery, and process lines.
• Inspect vessels, pipelines, and critical machinery before erection and installation.
• Perform and document hydraulic tests, vessel cleaning, and pressure tests in coordination with the project team.

Housekeeping & Safety Compliance

• Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of:
• SF-2 Plant Area
• SF-2 Chiller Room
• PLC & MCC Rooms
• Implement 5S principles and enforce safety regulations across all fractionation operations.
• Conduct regular safety audits and ensure compliance with industry safety standards and company policies.

Daily Operations & Team Supervision

• Assign daily tasks to operators and technicians and monitor their activities.
• Prepare and share daily job status reports in the project group.
• Conduct routine inspections of fractionation processes and equipment to ensure smooth functioning.
• Maintain logs of equipment performance, breakdowns, and preventive maintenance schedules.

Process Optimization & Efficiency Enhancement

• Identify and implement process improvements to optimize yield, efficiency, and quality.
• Ensure effective utilization of plant resources, reducing downtime and improving throughput.
• Monitor key parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow rates, and cooling efficiency for operational consistency.
• Troubleshoot fractionation process deviations and implement corrective actions.

Project Planning & Execution

• Define project scope, objectives, and timelines, ensuring technical feasibility.
• Develop detailed project execution plans to track progress and meet milestones.
• Ensure resource availability and allocation to execute fractionation projects effectively.
• Conduct risk assessment and implement mitigation plans to minimize operational risks.
• Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and engineering teams to procure required materials and equipment.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

• Track and analyze project performance metrics to ensure successful completion of short- and long-term goals.
• Maintain accurate documentation for:
• Process flow diagrams (PFDs) & Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
• Equipment maintenance records & calibration logs

Safety & compliance reports

• Submit MIS reports and performance evaluations to senior management.

Stakeholder Management & Leadership

• Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
• Lead, mentor, and develop junior engineers, operators, and technical staff to enhance their skills.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and innovation within the plant.

Preferred candidate profile

Level of Education

B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering or M.Sc. in Oil Technology.

Experience

10-12 years of experience in fractionation operations or Solvent Plant, project management, and plant supervision.
