Summary - Wafering Division is divided into three sections Shaping, Sawing, and Wet & WINS
- The Shaping Section is divided into: Cropping, Squaring, and Grinding & Inspection
- The Sawing Section is divided into: Gluing, Wire sawing, and Wire Guide Roller (WGR)
- The Wet and Wins is divided into: Precleaning, Final Cleaning, and Wafer inspection
- In Shaping, monocrystalline ingot is cropped into segments and shaped into bricks. In Sawing, the bricks are cut into wafers. In Wet & WINS, the wafers are finally cleaned and inspected.
- The Shift Engineer (Wafering Operation) will manage equipment status, personnel, consumables, and the overall status of the site in one of the subsections above. Also identifies and monitors critical parameters and addresses factors that impact process control, yield, and throughput. Provides direction and feedback during shift operation, schedules employee shifts, assigns duties, and trains and coaches new employees. Ensures health and safety standards.
- Typical equipment to be handled: Croppers, Squarers, Grinders, Visual Inspection Machines, Gluing, Wire Sawing Machines, Cleaner, Wafering Inspection Machine, CNC Machines, etc.
- In the long run, it is expected that the person develops themselves for leading all three sections individually.
Important Note
- Since it is a start-up plant, it is expected from the person to stretch beyond normal working hours (as and when required), resolve teething issues related to start-up, and perform debottlenecking to stabilize the section as per the designed throughput.
- The person should have strong leadership skills (particularly ownership mindset), be a team player, demonstrate company values and behavior, and maintain cordial relations with the shop floor team, cross-functional team, and all internal stakeholders, in a high workload, typical chemical plant start-up environment.
- Demonstrate passion in leading the start-up of the section with a focus on zero safety incidents.
- Lead from the front (hands-on knowledge) by working directly on the shop floor with reportees, demonstrating by operating the equipment themselves as needed.
- Able to handle large teams amicably and align the team towards operational goals of Ingot & Wafer Business.
- Take thorough training on Emergency Response Planning and develop capabilities in handling emergency situations such as leakage, fire, explosion, gas release, earthquake, etc., thereby ensuring minimal damage to people, equipment, and environment.
