Shift Chemist - Pharma

As a Shift Chemist at the Pharma Manufacturing department, your primary responsibility is to ensure the achievement of the desired production yield of pharmaceutical APIs. This involves ensuring that all production activities in the shift comply with cGMP, cGLP, EHS requirements, and specified operating procedures. Key Responsibilities: - Properly take over shift operations following defined procedures - Follow the Gowning Procedure before entering the pharma area - Indent raw materials from stores and update balance in Material Reconciliation Record - Collect Intermediate material and ensure availability of Utilities before charging the batch - Verify and charge raw material quantities, execute production process, and record process parameters progressively in Batch Manufacturing Sheet - Participate in cleaning and process validation during batch startup process - Carry out Filtration Activities - Adhere strictly to cGMP practices in line with 21 CFR and EHS requirements applicable to the production shop floor - Maintain Housekeeping and Hygiene in the shop floor area, ensure Pest Control, dispense required samples to QC, perform packing activity, and dispense finished material to stores for dispatch - Timely report abnormalities/deviations to the immediate supervisor/appropriate authority - Live record each activity in Batch Manufacturing Sheet and handover completed documents to Shift Incharge/ongoing documents to reliever - Provide support to plant maintenance staff for preventive maintenance schedules - Coordinate with plant maintenance team to ensure temperature, pressure, and humidity, resolve breakdowns during the shift, and successfully complete assigned trainings Qualification Required: - Minimum B.Sc. in Chemistry (preferred M.Sc. in Chemistry) - At least 2 years of experience in production and quality systems, regulatory and cGMP guidelines, and EHS requirements in Pharmaceutical API companies It is essential to possess key competencies including the ability to understand systems and processes, execution, optimum utilization of resources, attention to detail, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.,
