Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Academic Support: Aiding with understanding assignments, taking notes, organizing materials, and modifying lessons to suit the student's learning style.
Social-Emotional Support: Guiding social interactions, helping students build confidence, managing anxiety, and facilitating communication with peers and teachers.
Behavioral Support: Implementing behavior management strategies, helping students focus, and using prompts to encourage participation and self-regulation.
Collaboration: Working closely with the class teacher, special educators, and parents to ensure the student's individual goals are met and to share progress updates.
Promoting Independence: The ultimate goal is to help the student develop self-sufficiency and confidence, reducing reliance on the shadow teacher over time.

Patience and Empathy: Essential for understanding and supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.
Adaptability and Flexibility: The ability to adjust strategies and support in response to the student's evolving needs and classroom dynamics.
Strong Communication Skills: Necessary for collaborating effectively with the child, teachers, and parents.
Observation Skills: To monitor the student's progress, identify challenges, and report on developmental milestones.
