Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow SAM Consultant/Developer to design, implement, and manage the ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM Pro) module. The candidate will work closely with ITAM, Procurement, and Compliance teams to optimize software licensing, ensure vendor compliance, and reduce costs across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and configure ServiceNow Software Asset Management Professional (SAM Pro).

• Manage end-to-end SAM lifecycle: request, procurement, deployment, usage, optimization, and retirement.

• Integrate SAM with CMDB, Discovery, and third-party tools (SCCM, Tanium, Flexera, etc.).

• Automate software license harvesting, reclamation, and compliance checks.

• Maintain and optimize license models for major vendors (Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, IBM, SAP, etc.).

• Conduct software compliance audits and create remediation plans.

• Develop and maintain dashboards & reports for software usage, compliance, and optimization.

• Collaborate with stakeholders (IT, Finance, Procurement, and Vendors) to align SAM strategy with business objectives.

• Ensure data quality and integrity across SAM, CMDB, and Discovery.

• Provide support, troubleshooting, and enhancements for the SAM module.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT Asset Management experience, with at least 2+ years in ServiceNow SAM Pro.

• Strong knowledge of ServiceNow ITAM modules (SAM, HAM, CMDB, Discovery).

• Hands-on expertise in SAM Pro features:

• License reconciliation

• Entitlement import

• Software normalization

• Reclamation rules

• Publisher Packs

• Experience with integration tools: SCCM, Tanium, Flexera, JAMF, etc.

• Proficiency in ServiceNow development (Flow Designer, Scripting, Workflows).

• Good understanding of software licensing models (SaaS, Perpetual, Subscription, Concurrent, Named User).

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to Have

• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – SAM certification.

• Knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem, CMDB).

• Experience with ServiceNow HAM (Hardware Asset Management).

• Exposure to cloud cost optimization (AWS, Azure, GCP).
