As an Automotive Service Advisor, your role involves managing the service experience for customers in an automotive service environment. You will oversee customer vehicles from check-in to completion of service, ensuring clear communication and customer satisfaction throughout the entire process. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Customer Interaction & Consultation:** - Greet customers and listen to their vehicle concerns or service requests. - Provide expert advice on automotive services and repair needs. - Clearly explain repair options, service packages, and estimated costs to customers. - Keep customers informed about the progress of their vehicle's service and any changes or delays. - **Service Scheduling & Documentation:** - Schedule service appointments and manage the service calendar to optimize shop efficiency. - Create work orders and enter detailed descriptions of the services to be performed on customer vehicles. - Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, service history, and work performed. - **Service Coordination:** - Collaborate with technicians and mechanics to ensure all service work is performed correctly and on time. - Review service requests and perform vehicle inspections, if necessary, to recommend additional repairs or services. - Ensure customer vehicles are handled with care and returned in proper condition. - Provide detailed, transparent invoices for customers, ensuring accuracy in pricing, services, and parts used. - Resolve any billing issues or discrepancies in a professional and timely manner. - **Customer Satisfaction:** - Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing any complaints, concerns, or queries promptly and professionally. - Follow-up with customers after service completion to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business. - Maintain a positive and professional attitude when interacting with customers. - **Team Collaboration:** - Work closely with the service team, parts department, and management to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of services. - Assist in training new staff and mentoring junior service advisors. - **Inventory & Parts Coordination:** - Coordinate with the parts department to ensure necessary parts are available for repairs and service work. - Keep track of parts usage and suggest reordering when necessary. **Required Qualifications & Skills:** - **Education:** - A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A degree in automotive technology, business, or a related field is a plus. - **Experience:** - 2-3 years of experience as a Service Advisor, preferably in the automotive industry. - Strong knowledge of vehicle repair, maintenance, and diagnostics. - **Skills:** - Excellent customer service and communication skills. - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle stressful situations. - Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. - Basic knowledge of automotive parts and service procedures. - Familiarity with service advisor software and systems. **Personality Traits:** - Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive. - Customer-focused with a strong service mindset. - Ability to work collaboratively with others in a fast-paced environment. **Language Skills:** - Fluency in Tamil and English (knowledge of other regional languages is a plus). **Preferred Qualifications:** - Previous experience working in a dealership or large service center. - Understanding of automotive warranty procedures. - Certification in automotive service or related fields. In this role, you can expect a full-time position that typically requires availability for weekends or evening shifts. You should be able to stand for long periods and handle light physical tasks like carrying parts or checking vehicles.
