Job Description

A Service Advisor acts as the main link between customers and the service technicians, handling vehicle drop-offs, diagnosing needs, explaining repairs/costs, scheduling, and ensuring customer satisfaction by relaying info between parties and managing the service workflow. Key duties involve greeting customers, consulting mechanics, detailing repair estimates, managing schedules, selling services, and resolving issues, requiring strong communication, automotive knowledge, and problem-solving skills. Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Interaction: Greet customers, listen to their vehicle issues, answer questions, and provide updates on service progress.
  • Technical Liaison: Translate technical issues from mechanics into understandable terms for customers and vice-versa.
  • Service Coordination: Schedule appointments, manage service center workflow, estimate repair times/costs, and get customer authorization for extra work.
  • Sales & Upselling: Inform customers about service options, parts, and potential cost savings (like warranty benefits).
  • Administrative Tasks: Handle repair orders, process payments, update client accounts, and maintain service records.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Basic understanding of automotive technology and the industry.
  • Strong problem-solving, time management, and computer literacy.
  • Sales ability for upselling services and products.
