Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior/Principal Database Engineer (Oracle PL/SQL) responsible for architecting, developing, optimizing, and maintaining Oracle database solutions. This role involves hands-on PL/SQL programming, database administration, performance tuning, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver robust data solutions that support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain complex Oracle PL/SQL code, including stored procedures, packages, triggers, and functions to support application and business requirements.
Analyze business and technical requirements to design efficient database structures and processes.
Perform database modeling, optimization, and query tuning for large datasets to ensure high performance and scalability.
Develop and maintain ETL processes using tools and scripting languages (Linux shell, Python).
Manage the database lifecycle, including provisioning, patching, upgrading, migration, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
Monitor database performance, implement proactive monitoring and alerting, and troubleshoot production issues.
Collaborate with software engineers, analysts, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver integrated solutions and support deployment pipelines (CI/CD, Jenkins, GitHub).
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, and contribute to code reviews and best practices.
Participate in Agile development processes, including estimation, sprint planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
8+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Engineer or similar role.
Expert-level proficiency in Oracle PL/SQL and SQL tuning
Solid understanding of database administration, including high availability/disaster recovery (e.g., Oracle RAC, Data Guard), backup, and recovery.
Experience with data integration, data APIs, and data analysis.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Experience in finance or investment domains is a plus.
