Senior Liferay Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain

  Liferay portal solutions

  using

  Liferay DXP 7.x / Liferay 7.4

  .
• Develop

  custom portlets, hooks, themes, fragments, OSGi modules, and REST APIs

  .
• Integrate Liferay with

  external systems

  such as Salesforce, payment gateways, and third-party APIs.
• Optimize Liferay performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure portal stability.
• Implement

  Liferay content management

  and permissions frameworks.
• Upgrade and migrate Liferay portals from older versions to

  DXP 7.x

  .
• Work closely with the

  DevOps

  team for

  CI/CD pipelines

  and manage deployment processes.
• Collaborate with UI/UX teams to ensure

  responsive and user-friendly

  portal interfaces.
• Provide mentorship to junior developers and conduct

  code reviews

  .
• Ensure adherence to

  best practices, security guidelines

  , and

  coding standards

  .

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 6 to 12 years

  of hands-on experience in

  Liferay Portal / DXP development

  .
• Strong experience in

  Java, J2EE, OSGi, JSP, Servlets, Spring, Hibernate

  , and

  RESTful APIs

  .
• Expertise in developing

  Liferay portlets

  (MVCPortlet / MVC Framework).
• Proficiency in

  Liferay objects, fragments, structures, templates, client extentions and web content management

  .
• Strong knowledge of

  Liferay permissions, roles, workflows, and user management

  .
• Experience with

  Liferay upgrades, hotfixes, and performance tuning

  .
• Hands-on experience in

  Liferay Commerce

  (preferred but not mandatory).
• Good knowledge of

  frontend technologies

  : HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, React/Angular (optional but beneficial).
• Experience integrating Liferay with

  Elasticsearch, SAML, LDAP, SSO

  , and other enterprise services.
• Strong knowledge of

  SQL, database optimization

  , and working with

  MySQL / Oracle / PostgreSQL

  .
• Experience working with

  Agile / Scrum

  methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in

  Liferay Cloud / PaaS / SaaS environments

  .
• Exposure to

  Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins

  , and

  CI/CD pipelines

  .
• Knowledge of

  Elasticsearch tuning

  and troubleshooting search-related issues.
• Liferay Certification (Developer / DXP / Cloud) is a plus.

• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work independently and handle complex technical challenges.
• Passion for learning new technologies and upgrading Liferay skills.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelors or Master’s Degree

  in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
