Role Overview: We are seeking a seasoned Senior WordPress Developer with 7+ years of experience to lead both technical development and content strategy initiatives. You will architect custom WordPress solutions while owning the end-to-end content lifecycle from planning and creation to optimization. This role requires a rare blend of coding expertise, SEO knowledge, and strategic content management skills. Key Responsibilities: Technical Development: Design, develop, and maintain custom WordPress themes/plugins from scratch, ensuring scalability and performance Optimize websites for speed, security, mobile responsiveness, and SEO (e.g., Core Web Vitals, Google PageSpeed). Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and MySQL. Implement headless WordPress or JAMstack architectures where applicable. SEO Optimization: Technical SEO Optimization Ensure proper site architecture, mobile responsiveness, indexing, and Core Web Vitals optimization for performance and user experience. SEO-Friendly Development & Security – Implement clean, structured code, schema markup, HTTPS security, and optimized metadata for better search rankings. Collaboration & On-Page SEO – Work with content teams to enhance meta tags, alt text, structured data, and internal linking for improved visibility. Analytics & Continuous Improvement – Utilize Google Search Console and SEO tools to monitor site health, troubleshoot issues, and refine strategies. Content Management: Support creation, and optimization of content across websites and digital platforms. Give inputs into and execute a content strategy aligned with business goals, user needs, and SEO best practices. Manage WordPress CMS workflows, including content publishing, audits, and updates. Conduct content audits to identify gaps, refresh outdated materials, and improve user engagement. What You Bring to the Table: 7+ years of hands-on WordPress/PHP development with a portfolio showcasing custom themes/plugins and large-scale projects. Front-End Mastery: Expertise in WordPress, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design frameworks. SEO Leadership: Proven ability to manage content ecosystems, optimize for SEO, and leverage tools like Google Analytics, SEMrush, or Ahrefs. Design Collaboration: Proficiency in translating Figma/Photoshop/Canva designs into pixel-perfect WordPress sites. Technical SEO: Experience with schema markup, canonical tags, site speed optimization, and accessibility standards. Soft Skills: Strong communication, project management, and problem-solving abilities. Mentoring and Coaching Attitude: Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical documentation and best practices. Nice-to-Have Skills: Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer). Exposure to digital marketing strategies (email campaigns, paid ads).
