Senior Vice President, Product Management

As the Vice President, Platform Product Owner at BNY, you will play a crucial role in strategic product planning, managing multiple product backlogs, and mentoring junior Product owners. Your higher level of experience and expertise in product management will be instrumental in driving product execution, customer insights, and product strategy. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact in various ways. You will be responsible for writing specifications for both minor and major features, negotiating the implementation of current work, and making trade-off decisions to ensure the launch of high-quality products. Your ability to assess the quality and readiness of a release efficiently will be key to the success of the products you oversee. Furthermore, you will be involved in formulating the right business questions to gather customer insights, using low fidelity tools to outline design approaches, and maintaining regular contact with product users to prioritize roadmap decisions. Your understanding of business outcomes and the impact of product decisions on trade-offs will drive the crafting of near-term product roadmaps and effective communication with junior team members. Your primary responsibilities will include owning the product backlog and near-term roadmap, ensuring proper refinement, prioritization, and grooming. You will also take ownership of Agile ceremonies across POD, tracking velocity, identifying efficiencies for teams, managing user stories, refinement processes, stakeholder management, technical design decisions, product performance monitoring, and analyzing key product metrics. To excel in this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in business management or a related discipline, or have equivalent work experience. Additionally, you should have 3-5 years of product experience and 5-10 years of financial services experience.
